Innovative Lighting Solutions

STEINEL passive infrared sensors, also known as PIR motion detectors, respond to heat radiated from moving persons and use this ability, for example, to switch a light ON and, after a selectable period of time, OFF again.

Automatic lights are created by using motion sensors. This is where two different technologies are employed: Ultrasonic motion sensors are the ideal solution for indoors. For Outdoors, only passive infrared (PIR) sensors are used. Both these technologies are available as ceiling and wall mount with independent motion sensors and integrated automatic lights with sensors. These sensors also have a lux level feature to suit individual needs of the occupant.

About 19% of the energy used world-wide goes on lighting. This equates to an annual demand of about 2,650 terrawatt-hours. Much of this gigantic amount is wasted – partly by leaving lights switched 'ON' unnecessarily.

With sensor technology from STEINEL, wasting this resource is a thing of the past: Light comes 'ON' automatically when you enter a room. And switches 'OFF' again when you leave. What's more, using low-energy lamps with our sensor lights is not a problem either. This way, lighting from STEINEL helps to save huge quantities of energy, CO2 emission, carbon footprint and costs.

Besides this: Lights that switch 'ON' automatically enhance everyday convenience, safety and security. That's "intelligent energy saving".

Energy-saving sensor technology from STEINEL can be used wherever light is needed. Whether indoors or out, spot lighting or illuminating large spaces: Using the sensor products from the brand and technology leader, environment-friendly lighting is achievable here and now. This way, everyone can help to make a better future.
